In this way, only biomass was the option left and in most villages this was left un-utilized and rice husk was waste that farmers did not use. Therefore, they planned to produce a renewable source of energy by using biomass wastes.
Biomass briquettes are alternate source of fuels in comparison to conventional sources of fossil fuels like oil, gas, wood, diesel etc. In this low energy fuel can be converted into high density fuel at a briquetting plant. It is a method in which agricultural waste is compressed at a high temperature and converted into solid briquettes of same size. The energy content ranges from 4.7 to 6.7 KJ/g depending on the kind of waste material used in the briquetting process. Other products like dust and the husk increase the energy content of the biomass briquettes.
